Overview

Akhil Bharatiya Sanskrutik Sangh, Global Council Of Art & Culture organsied the 1st Cultural Olympiad of Performing Arts 2011 at Patravadi Theatre-Vic-Hua Hin-Thailand.

The winners of the National event conducted by ABSS in May can only enroll in these Olympiad. Total 210 programmes took place with 350 artists from all over India in 3 days. The event took place at Patravadi theatre which was a place having an aesthetic beauty in itself with flourished centre of various performing art forms of all types. It was an Art Complex.

Cultural Olympiad is an Competition where the competitor compete with themselves and not with the others. There were three styles :- repertory -means all classicals , Ethnic- all folk and Freestyle- all modern, contemporary, Semiclassicals. The competition took place in different types of forms -in Dance, Vocal ,instrumental & Short Play.

The Juries who judged this event was Hon. Shri. Subrata De, Hon. Smt. Chitra Subramanium,       Hon. Padmashree Darshana Jhaveri.

Total :- DANCES- 170, VOCAL-13, INSTRUMENTAL- 18, MONOACT-9

Sukruti Kathak dance Academy- Pune, Maharashtra , Pooja Hobby centre- Rajkot - Gujarat, Navrachana's School- Gujarat, Ambe Vidyalaya- Gujarat,  Swar Gandharva- Chattisgarh, Natyalaya School Of Dance- Kutchh -Gujarat,  Sadhana kathak Nrutyalaya- Maharashtra, Margam Dance Academy- Maharashtra, Shri's Dance Academy- Maharashtra were the winners in this Olympiad.

Special Performance by Nidhi Doowa from USA.   

The Chief Guest for this Cultural Olympiad was Patravadi Mejudhon- Founder, Renowned Actress, Director, Playwriter and Thai Classical Dancer.

Patravadi Mejudhon said-" Indian Classical Dance is the best all the world's dance. It's a real pleasure to see all the folk & classical dance forms of India. The Thai & Indian Classical dance forms resemble each other."

Weather

Rain will now be a distant memory across much of Thailand with bright weather more the order of the day. Temperatures remain relatively low across the north (avg temp: 23 - 25°C) with Bangkok and the centre a couple of degrees higher.

For beach lovers, the best weather will be on the western side of the peninsular (avg temp: 26 - 29°C) although rainfall is also sharply decreasing on the east (avg temp: 26 - 28°C) meaning that by Christmas you can choose your island freely.

At this time of year water levels are high in coastal areas. This reduces the depth of the beach at times with some shallow bays losing sight of the sand altogether.
